This work is an update and review of the study Projections of Agribusiness – Brazil 2008/09 to 2018/19, Brasília – DF, 2009, published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply. As the prospective view is not static, periodic reviews are necessary due to the internal and external environment. For this reason, institutions which work with the long term view have the concern to update systematically their projections. The world economic crisis which started in September 2008 affected considerably several sectors from the agribusiness, changing trends which were being consolidated in some analyzed products. The present study tries to incorporate these effects which were left by the impacts of the crisis on the Brazilian agriculture.

This work has as objective to indicate possible directions of the development and provide subsidies to the public policy makers in relation to the trends of the main products from the agribusiness. The results also seek to attend an enormous number of users from the several sectors of the national and international economy to which the information announced is of great importance. The indicated trends will allow to identify possible trajectories, as well as to structure future visions of agribusiness in the world context so that the country continues growing and conquering new markets.
